So finally there is recognition of what Mexicans have always known, the unique flavor of clamato juice.
The NACS Show has honored Budweiser Chelada (Budweiser & Clamato juice) as one of the best new products of the year.
Personally I like Clamato juice, that little touch of clam with tomato makes all the difference to a drink. Some believe it is an aphrodisiac, I don't know about that, but it is great for a hangover.

Store Closings

Even more store closings have been announced and it is thought that up to 6000 are likely to disappear nationwide.
Ann Taylor has said that 117 of their stores will close by January and this follows cuts by Gap, Cache, Eddie Bauer, Zales and numerous others. Even Disney is closing some of its stores.
My immediate thoughts are with all of those people whose jobs are going at the most expensive time of the year and if retail stores are having to close in such high numbers, how many jobs in the manufacturing industries are also going to disappear.
A worrying time for all of us.

Earthquake Today - Great California ShakeOut

The big earthquake day has arrived. Are you joining in the Great California Shakeout?

At 10am a siren will sound the beginning a a massive 2 minute earthquake drill with 450,000 people participating in San Bernardino County and 5 million registered throughout Southern California.

The drill is intended to practice for a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. With the high risk of a major earthquake hitting California sometime in the next 30 years people need to be prepared to cope for at least 72 hours after a quake without help.

Dixie Brotherhood - Woman Killed

An Oklahoma woman who travelled to Louisiana for a Ku Klux Klan initiation ritual was shot when she asked to be taken back to town. The woman's body was found, hidden under brush, at the side of a road.
According to Sheriff Jack Strain, the woman, who has not been named yet, was recuited over the internet and was expected to partake in a ritual before returning home to recruit new members for the group.
Weapons and a number of KKK items were found at the campsite where the ritual was supposed to take place. Eight people have been arrested.

Last week the first black president was elected. One step forward - !

Will Billie Piper be the new Doctor Who? In an interview David Tennant light-heartedly suggested her, but both she and Catherine Tate seem to be a long way down the list of bookies' favorites.
Two actors seem to be the current front runners. David Morrissey, probably better known in the UK than in the States and Patterson Joseph, who would be the first black Doctor Who.
My choice would be James Nesbitt, who has proved he can play both comic and dark characters. David Tennant will be a hard act to follow, so who would you chose?
